Matilda Rose

Multidisciplinary artist born and raised in New York. Her work whimsically explores a variety of topics from fantastical realms, folklore and mythology to studies on nature and ecological systems. Matilda experiments with many mediums, however her strongest influences derive from the world of illustration. Artists such as Edward Gorey, Tove Jansson and Yayoi Kusama are heavy inspirations for her work. Traveling and exploring new places adds new perspective and fuels her work further. During these travels she enjoys experiencing the beauty of the environment and incorporates this into her work. whether it’s drawing, painting, pyrography, printmaking, or animation, she maintains a style that translates across mediums in a unique way in physical and digital creations. 

Teaching has become a growing passion for Matilda as well, having taught in places from New York to New Zealand! Teaching children ages 7- 14 years old, as well as hosting adult paint and sip events and creative classes, she introduces students to a variety of artists and creative techniques. Matilda enjoys creating commissions for people as well. from making murals, logos and designs for nonprofit organizations, businesses and companies as well as personalized creations for individuals. 

Matilda rose has an excitement for creating and a drive to explore many avenues in the art world. She is currently looking forward to various upcoming art projects and collaborations.
